Alphonse Gambino is first and foremost a businessman - at least, that's what he'll tell you if one were to ask.[break][break]
He is also the leader of the REVOCS crime syndicate. This organization has been a thorn in the side of Kalos authorities across each of its cities and numerous administrations spanning two decades. Alphonse is the original founder of REVOCS - and he considers his organization far more distinguished than a mere "team" or gang which accepts applicants off the streets. Every single one of his fellow officers
and the Grunts (known as Minutemen) are hand-picked and carefully selected by Gambino himself. The only one in the organization that carries anywhere close to his level of authority is his partner and right-hand, "Six". Over twenty years, Gambino has formed REVOCS into an international name that causes the International Police and local authorities no shortage of grief.[break][break]
The services of Gambino and his people come at a high cost - but given their effectiveness and simple motivation of making as much money as possible, even other, larger criminal syndicates have hired them when there is excessive wetwork involved. [break][break]
Gambino himself is a dichotomous paradox of a man.[break][break]
On one hand, Gambino - who goes by the codename
Minuit or "Midnight" - is a career criminal. Even at age 22 - when he founded REVOCS - he was a known and feared gangster who had earned himself the moniker "Alexei the Reaper". He has survived numerous assassination attempts - and even managed to escape a team of Rocket Grunts the one time he was successfully cornered - or rather, he managed to befriend them, informed them they should raise their ransom, and even jovially promised he would come back one day and kill all of them once the trade was over. Over the next year all of those Grunts mysteriously vanished. He is ruthless, cunning, and ambitious - motivated by simple greed, but meticulous and careful and with a good deal more manners and restraint than most "Crime Lords".[break][break]
After all, whether it be a robbery or a murder - he has two rules by which he governs himself and his "employees".[break][break]
The first rule is to never kill children - even for profit. If this rule is broken, the families of innocents must be compensated properly - and it's just bad for business. And the offender is usually executed by the Big Man himself.[break][break]
The second rule is "Always be polite." He doesn't so much force this rule onto the men and ladies in his charge - but he tries always to abide it, and is reported to be courteous but cold even when angry and rarely loses his composure.[break][break]
And that is part of what makes his a paradox. True, he is a crime lord - people have died under his orders and at his very hand. His organization is involved in everything from smuggling, drug trafficking, fraud, larceny, and murder - though their group doesn't traffic people - or tolerate such incidentals when they are involved.[break][break]
Gambino has standards and class which many "bosses" of a group do not. He is well-mannered and polite, slow to anger - he has little need for anger, most of the time, and he jokes that he has people who get angry for him. His body shows the proof of his many hard years - scars adorn his toned, muscled body - and one of his hands was claimed in an attempted his during his younger days when he deposed a Rocket Cell in his hometown, before he had formed his own specialized group. He always hated the various "Teams" - but that encounter which cost him his hand in order to drive them out of his hometown once and for all taught him a lesson. He learned then that to Team Rocket - most things weren't personal. [break][break]
It was all just business.[break][break]
And now - having given the order to his crew to head to Hoenn - he is a new business venture with none other than Team Rocket.[break][break]
Moving regions might have been a chance to start over - to do things right this time. To retire with his extravagant wealth and prestige as a "Gentleman Kingpin" of Kalos. But there's a saying in Unova...[break][break]
"You can't teach an old Stoutland new tricks."
